Natural Healing Essential Oils for Top Skin Conditions

 

Below are natural healing essential oil recommendations for many of the top skin conditions experienced by people today

✿ Callouses

Have flat, thick skin, maybe on your feet? Oregano is most effective.

✿ Chapped/Cracked

Its the result of the lack of natural skin oils. Often the soaps we use strip these natural oils from our bodies. Myrrh is the best oil to use for chapped and cracked skin.

✿  Dehydrated

Use Geranium and Lavender to help with dehydrated skin.

✿  Diaper Rash

If you have kids and diapers, you will definitely want to keep Lavender around. Chamomile is also effective.

✿ Eczema

It’s basically any redness or itching (and sometimes pain) on the surface of your skin.  Helichrysum and Thyme are the best oils for eczema. Geranium, Lavender, Patchouli, and Melaleuca (Tea Tree) are also effective.

✿ Facial Oils

We can’t treat the skin on our face and body the same. Myrrh and Sandalwood are best for your face.

✿ Itching/Rashes

Peppermint and Lavender are best for general itchiness and Tea Tree and Lavender is best for rashes.

✿ Scarring

Frankincense and Rose both help with scar prevention.

Lavender is best used after a burn or injury to the skin when scarring may occur.

Helichrysum is also effective for reducing scars. Other oils that may be useful are Geranium and Myrrh.

✿ Skin Ulcers

If you have an open sore, you will want to protect it and help it heal. Lavender and Myrrh are the best.

✿ Stretch Marks

Although sometimes the skin is stretched to the point of being damaged, Lavender and Myrrh are your best oils for reducing the appearance of stretch marks and helping the skin heal.

✿  Sunburn

Sunburns and other burns are best soothed by Lavender. Roman Chamomile and Melaleuca (Tea Tree) can also help.

✿ Wrinkles

The most effective oils for wrinkles are Fennel, Frankincense, Geranium, and Lavender.

Cypress, Helichrysum, Lemon, Myrrh, Oregano, Rosemary, Sandalwood, Thyme, and Ylang Ylang are also helpful.

Here is a little more information about some of the oils:

✿ Geranium Essential Oil

It is very balancing and nurturing and suits almost all skin types.

This oil is often recommended for dry and aging skin, but can also help alleviate symptoms of discomfort associated with burns, eczema, and head lice.

Geranium essential oil is also a good essential oil for reducing cellulite.

✿ Lavender Essential Oil

The oil suits most skin types, but is especially good for acne, athlete's foot, eczema, burns, psoriasis, ringworm, stings and insect bites.

It is one of the few essential oils that is so gentle it can be applied neat (undiluted) to the skin to heal burns and insect bites.

✿ Patchouli Essential Oil

It is especially useful for those with oily skin, but is also helpful in healing burns, eliminating dandruff, eczema and oily hair.

This oil is considered perfectly safe as long as it is diluted before using it directly on the skin.

✿  Neroli Essential Oil

Neroli is helpful for dry and aging skin, or to help heal scars and stretch marks.

This is an emotionally uplifting and calming oil.

It is also an oil highly recommended during pregnancy.

Neroli generally has no cautions as long as it is diluted before it is applied to the skin

✿ Rosewood Essential Oil

It has great value for the skin as it helps with many skin problems including

✯ acne
✯ healing scars
✯ adding moisture to the skin
✯ adding life to dull complexions
✯ reducing wrinkles

✿ Myrrh Essential Oil

It is best for a dry or chapped skin.

Myrrh is equally good for oily skin and can help reduce the look of wrinkles.

This oil is also good for eczema, dermatitis, for speeding scars and wounds recovery.
